Mylar Crease Fly

£6.95 excl tax

The Crease Fly is a style was first thought up for  saltwater by Capt. Joe Blados of Greenport, NY. It was created to target striped bass and bluefish but has proved to be effective on many types of saltwater species and freshwater species as well.

A common mistake is thinking Crease Flies are poppers, but that was not their original purpose. They can be fished in this way, but won’t have as much splash as an actual popper. The Crease Fly is intended to be fished sub-surface on a steady retrieve preferably against a current.

I do the Mylar crease fly I two different sizes #1/0 and #3/0 and they are tied on the Gamakatsu SP11-3H, and a small range of the most popular colours.

The original pattern uses a thin coat of epoxy but I prefer a coating of Plasti-dip which gives the Mylar crease fly a soft flexible feel, and keeps the weight down.

They can be custom tied in pretty much any colour you can dream, just drop me an email to rstharvey@ukflies.com.
